•
Conduct risk profiling and maintain compliance records for future reference.
•

Not Permitted (CANNOT)
•

•
Use titles like "Financial Planner" or "Financial Advisor" in marketing collateral.
•
Provide "free advice", rebates, gifts, or upfront commission incentives.
•
Give scheme predictions or specific recommendations on social media to unknown audiences.
•
Accept upfront commissions; only trail commissions paid by AMCs are permitted.
A note on credentials: Namit also holds the CFP® certification and the QPFP® designation from Network FP (see the
NetworkFP page). These reflect personal financial-education standards and a voluntary code of ethics — they do not change the SEBI-regulated MFD role described above. Every recommendation made through FundRover remains incidental to mutual fund distribution.
Step 1 & 2
Risk Profiler & Document Collector
Two hosted FundRover tools that make onboarding fast and paperless.
Risk Profiler
Answer a short questionnaire to receive a risk category (Conservative to Aggressive) used to shortlist suitable schemes.
The three official steps every new investor completes before their first SIP or lump sum.
1
KYC
Verify identity once, valid across AMCs.
2
CAN Registration
Get your Common Account Number via MFU.
3
e-Mandate
Authorise auto-debits for SIPs via CAMS.
4
Invest
Start your SIP or lump sum investment.
1 & 2. Complete or Update Your KYC
KYC (Know Your Customer) is mandatory before you can invest. If you're not KYC-registered yet, or need to modify existing KYC details (address, mobile, email), use either of these AMC-hosted portals:
An e-Mandate authorises your bank to auto-debit SIP amounts on the due date, so you never miss an instalment. Register it once through CAMS — it works across most AMCs.
Register your Common Account Number (CAN) on MF Utilities and place your first purchase — all transactions route through this ARN (96522) for ongoing service and support.
Who we are, how we are paid, and what this website is not.
AMFI requires a distributor to say this in plain language. FundRover publishes it in full, unprompted.
Why this page exists
SEBI and AMFI require every mutual fund distributor to disclose their registration status, the AMCs they are empanelled with, and the commission-based nature of their compensation — so that investors can identify potential conflicts of interest and make an informed choice. This page goes beyond the minimum requirement: instead of sharing empanelment details only on request, FundRover publishes the complete, up-to-date list here for anyone to see.
Registration
Namit Thakkar is an AMFI-Registered Mutual Fund Distributor holding ARN-96522. Verify this registration directly on AMFI's official distributor locator. FundRover is a practice/brand name used for this distribution activity — it is not a separate legal entity or a SEBI-registered intermediary in its own right.
Not an Investment Adviser
Namit Thakkar is not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser (RIA). SEBI does not permit a person distributing mutual funds to use titles such as "Financial Planner", "Financial Advisor", "Independent Financial Adviser" or "Wealth Adviser" unless separately registered as an Investment Adviser. FundRover does not use those titles. Guidance offered here is incidental to distribution, not a substitute for holistic financial or investment advice.
How FundRover is paid
No fee is charged directly to the investor. When you invest in a regular plan through this ARN, the asset management company pays a trail commission out of the scheme's expense ratio — this is standard industry practice, disclosed here for transparency. Direct plans of the same scheme carry a lower expense ratio and pay no distributor commission; that difference compounds over time and is a genuine conflict of interest, which is why it is disclosed plainly rather than left implicit.
Scope of guidance
Scheme-related guidance is offered only as incidental to mutual fund distribution, to help you choose between suitable options identified by your risk profile. It is not comprehensive financial planning, not stock market advice, not insurance advice on this website, and never a discretionary mandate — you approve every transaction, and your units are always held in your own name with the AMC / registrar (CAMS / KFintech).
Market risk & taxation
Mutual fund investments are subject to market risk. Please read all scheme-related documents carefully before investing. Calculators referenced on hosted tools are arithmetic illustrations using assumed rates — they are not research, not a guarantee, and not tied to any specific scheme. Mentions of tax treatment (e.g. Section 80C, ELSS lock-in, capital gains) are educational only; tax law changes, and this is not tax advice — please consult a qualified tax professional for your return.
AMC & SIF Empanelment Status
Below is the current list of Asset Management Companies and Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs) that Namit Thakkar (ARN-96522) is empanelled with — meaning investments in these can be transacted and serviced through this ARN. This list is reviewed periodically; if a fund house you're interested in isn't listed, please ask directly.
QPFP® (Qualified Personal Financial Planner) is a certification program run by Network FP — an Indian training and standards body for financial services professionals — focused on the personal financial-planning process: goal setting, cash-flow and risk analysis, and building a disciplined, client-first practice. Namit completed this program to bring a more structured, process-driven approach to the incidental guidance he offers as a mutual fund distributor.
Why it was pursued
A SEBI-registered ARN alone qualifies someone to distribute mutual funds, but it says little about the process or ethics behind the recommendations. Completing QPFP® — alongside the CFP® certification — was a personal commitment to raise that bar voluntarily: better risk-profiling practice, clearer client communication, and continuing education, on top of what regulation requires.
Ethics this practice runs on
Full disclosure
Costs, commissions and conflicts of interest are stated up front — see the Disclosures page.
Suitability first
Risk profiling happens before any scheme is discussed, not after.
No mis-selling
No product pushed for higher commission; no upfront incentives are accepted.
Confidentiality
Client data and documents are handled securely and never shared without consent.
Continuous education
Ongoing CPE to stay current with AMFI, SEBI and industry norms.
Client-first mindset
Recommendations are shaped around your goals and risk profile, not a sales target.
Important: CFP® and QPFP® are professional education credentials, not a SEBI Investment Adviser registration. Namit continues to operate strictly within the AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor framework described on the MFD Role and Disclosures pages.
